Capacity-building at Board level is imperative to improving governance

 

  • 41% of respondents see an opportunity to increase their boards’ capacity and expertise to oversee climate issues
  • 34% of respondents see an opportunity to increase their boards’ capacity and expertise to oversee cybersecurity issues
  • 31% of respondents see an opportunity to increase their boards’ capacity and expertise to oversee geopolitical risk
  • Directors are also looking to make improvements to the dynamics within the boardroom. About half of respondents indicated that it is “important” or “very important” that they improve the rigor of board decision making (47%) or the candor of board discussions (45%) over the next 12 months.
